CNET Review

The good:  Super images; a USB connection.
The bad:  So-so battery life.
The bottom line:  This camera's great image quality sends shivers down our spine.

Whenever a manufacturer gives a consumer more for less, we think it's a cause for celebration. Kodak has done just that with its new DC280 Zoom. This camera boasts amazingly rich images and a software bundle that earns it Brownie points--we can't help but applaud it wildly.

"Nice overall good quality digital camera"
Pros - Good conectivity features, supplied with most cables. - Picture quality very good, -Good capacity thanks to 20MByte memory card, even better with 32MByte. - Controls and editing features easy to use. Cons - LCD display bit poor. - Main problem is that Battery life poor, even with NiMH batteries, would have been nice to get the AC power pack as standard. - An integrated lens cover would have beed useful. - No case supplied

"Leaves a lot to be desired"
The battery life is pathetic. I carry several sets of batteries with me because the battery power is used up after very few photos. Although I have managed to get a few acceptable shots, and one really good one, this camera leaves a lot to be desired. It is difficult not to end up with a lot of distortion and "Barrelling". Full length photos of people often show them as leaning. It is hard to tell the quality of a shot just by looking in the led display or the view finder. I find I must carry a laptop so I can check out the photo onsight, in order not to have to return and recreate the scene. The company I work for purchased this camera based on C/net's ratings. We were very disappointed in it. I would consider it mediocre at best.
