   "Try a different program..."
I downloaded this, thinking I could find all sorts of files to download. Guess what? I did, but I couldn't successfully download one file of any type. Every time I would try, it would connect, gather the information, and then it would just stop and say "error" and not even explain why. In addition to this, it froze aboout every 5 seconds. On their website, it says that there are bugs, but this was rediculous. If you are thinking about downloading this program, save the space and save yourself a lot of grief.

   "better than Napster"
this is a pretty cool program. it's obviously a napster imitation but immediatley better because you can transfer more than mp3's. the search engine goes at light speed. basically... a faster version of napster with different files to transfer. now lets look at the downside... personally i like the upload design of imesh... where you can get the file from up to 5 different people at a time and u cannot cancel uploads. Scour runs on the upload/download engine that napster has which means greater chance of getting your file canceled. and with scour (like napster) you have to dl the entire thing all at once... this is a good program and i use it. but get iMesh too it's loads better than Scour

   "what happened!?"
I don't understand how or why some people are having trouble with this program. I previously was connected to Napster, when a friend told me about this program. After checking it out I decided to give it a go. Not only did I find this program easier to use, but the added features of being able to download pretty much ANYTHING as far as media is concerned blew me away. There are two things that I would like to see however in upcomming versions- 1= I don't like (or not used to) using win-amp to play my tunes, I kinda miss the built in player that Napster has, along with the play list creator. 2= Some of the songs have a extremely quick gap throughout, almost sounds like the song skipped. Now I don't know if this is SX's fault or the accual mp3 itself. (something for you guys to look into at the SX office ) OH.....and for the guy with the postal code problem...I too noticed that those silly Americans do not think about us Canadians much when it comes the web. When putting in postal codes put them in without thegap ie: L1K2H3 Unfortunatley the Americans know little about us. :(

"Good for fast connections, can be hell for the rest of us."
This program usually works well but it lacks in one particular area which affects those with slower connections. That is the resume function. Since you can only resume once and you can't resume files from other users (even if it's the same file) it makes downloading large files practically impossible for users with normal modem connections. However since I couldn't even connect to the Imesh server and have since deleted it from my computer, I would reccomend Scour Exchange as the leader in the field.

   ""Fast Errors""
You could say this could compare just as well to napster. Although when you look at how scour exchange works you find out the difference is that speed is what keeps scour exchange popular. Although the bad thing is that even if you get speeds of searching many times faster then scour, the people you download from, well they like to cancel your download......in turn, giving you an error. Sure, use the program, it's pretty good cuz of the large database. But if you see an error message, don't come crying to me.

"The best of the file sharing programs!!"
Scour is I think clearly better than Napster, Imesh, freenet or any such file sharing app. The reason? In a word: SIMPLE. You download the program in minutes, even with a slow as molasses modem. The user interface is plain with a nice color scheme. But yet it is very functional, letting you search for basically any type of media file using basically any criteria you want you want. Downloading and uploading files goes smoothly .The only weirdness I encountered was an inability to import some of my existing media file folders for sharing, for reasons still unknown. Other than that, thumbs way up for Scour!!!

"This is what you're looking for"
I see the Napster suing got to you? Scour is SECOND in downloads on Cnet. The number of Scour users went up from average 17,000 to 60,000. I downloaded Scour about 3 months ago. Didn't like it and uninstalled. After that i downloaded and uninstalled it 2 more times. Finally, the newest version is working fine. There aren't as many mp3s as on Napster (i think because there's an option "don't share my files") but it's second best after Napster and if napster gets shut down this will be one of the few working sharing programs (at least other programs like gnutella and iMesh didn't work for me)

   "Ease of use???"
Dear Sirs/Madames I happen to reside in Canada....I have been told how you are better than Napster....It looks impressive, however, i have downloaded your program and because i have a postal code rather than a ZIP code, it won't take my info.Postal codes here have a space between digits ie.. *** ***. This is the proper postal code. Mine is V4W 3P2. Will this work? I am not one for downloading a lot of music(i just want to see if i can get some songs that i haven't heard since i was a boy). As it is now, the SX startup wizard is "contacting the server" in order to set me up. It is not responding. Is it because i have a postal code and not a postal code? Yours truly, Bill Buchan(not registered yet):o(

   "My opinion"
After a while, the video memory can't handle the content of the transfert window. And no refresh could be made. Maybe you stack too many data in the video stack... Some bugs are there too.. I can't see the SIZE of files... When handling multiples files, it take too long to operate, it is like your software really have trouble to handle a lot of informations at the same time. After a while, my modem will always operate a transfert.. Even if I don't do any transfert (Up or Down)... Last thing.. A lot of porno with childs or violated girls can be found easily on scour... It is very bad... Try to bane user who distribute this kind of stuff, it's illegal... Gabriel Mailhot http://allegoria.mytradecenter.com
