Kelly is a senior majoring in journalism with possible minors in sociology and business. She joined The Daily Collegian staff as a candidate in the spring of 1998 and spent two semesters as a police/fire/courts reporter. In the fall of 1999, Kelly found her niche at the Collegian as the online editor.

Kelly grew up in Ligonier, PA, a tiny town located between Johnstown and Pittsburgh. Before graduating from Ligonier Valley High School, she wrote for the local and school newspapers and yearbook, of which she was editor in chief her senior year.

In the spring of 2000, Kelly ventured with other Penn State students to Manchester, England to study the European media. Although she is glad to be back in Happy Valley, already she misses the wonderful people and places she encountered during her semester abroad.

Although Kelly is not sure if she will pursue a career in journalism, she will always be grateful to her family, friends and her high school journalism teacher for their continued encouragement. An avid Muppets fan, she enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family.
