The bottom line:  Beneath the iBook Special Edition's stylish chassis lies the heart of a powerful laptop with some important improvements--but its speed leaves something to be desired. Case in point: the new iBook Special Edition, with its eye-catching graphite-and-white chassis. But there's more than good looks here. CNET User Opinions 96%   4%    (46 votes)  Use it? Recommend it?  Yes   No   kornfed "The iBook SE 466MHz Rocks" I've been the owner of a G3 desktop now for over a year. My new iBook now runs as fast or faster than my desktop iron. With the upgrade to FireWire support and the faster processor, this screaming green machine has every thing I want, except for the smaller screen real-estate. In exchange for the portability, it's a reasonable trade off. The only real draw back that I can find is that I'm not good with the trackpad yet. I find that adding an external mouse makes things much easier. That should be easy to address. For $59 bux, I can have that sleek new Apple optical mouse.
