Marti Emerald
Troubleshooter
"This is the most satisfying career possible. I'm making a difference for people in the community everyday." Marti Emerald is one gutsy lady. When she became the Troubleshooter in 1987, she dug right in, fighting to resolve local problems and issues that affect the heart, health and pocketbooks of many San Diegans. She's a dedicated consumer advocate on a mission to educate and defend those in trouble. Marti's not afraid to track down a con to get to the bottom of a story. As the Troubleshooter, she's resolved thousands of problems and helped put dozens of scammers behind bars. Marti's commitment goes beyond sitting at a desk. She goes after news stories that affect our community. In "Homeless Like Me," Marti spent 48 hours on the streets with San Diego's homeless, bringing viewers a close-up look at a tragic problem. Efforts like this have earned the Troubleshooter over one hundred awards for community service and journalistic excellence. A tireless volunteer, Marti works with several charities and organizations. She especially enjoys educating senior citizen groups on how to avoid rip-offs. Despite her busy schedule, Marti makes time to be a mom and hit the golf course. Want to contact Marti?
