Maya Nishikawa
General Assignment Reporter
"San Diego is such a dynamic city with so much to offer. I'm looking forward to getting to know the community and eventually raising a family here."  A Southern Californian native, Maya Nishikawa began her broadcasting career by studying Mass Communication and Rhetoric at UC Berkeley. Starting in LA at KCBS-TV and later at KTLA-TV, she was quickly sought out by WOWL-TV in Florence, Alabama to become an Anchor/Producer/Reporter.
After two years in the South, Maya returned to her home state as a reporter and weekend anchor for KGET-TV in Bakersfield, California. Opportunity in Springfield, Missouri stole her from her native soil once again. After a year at KYTV as the General Assignment Reporter/Anchor featured daily on the 5:00 p.m. news, she was anxious to get home again. Maya is now reporting for 10News Live @ 5 and 10News Live @ 6:30, while her husband pursues a law degree at the University of San Diego.
