Report: housing inventories down 21.5% in first half

(September 11) - The number of unsold apartments constructed by private sector concerns fell by 21.5 percent in the first six months of the year to approximately 15,000 at the end of June from the 19,100 recorded at the end of 2000, the Association of Contractors and Builders in Israel (ACB) said.

Housing price index up only 0.4 percent in June

(August 14) - Demonstrating little change in the weak conditions of the real estate market, the Ministry of Construction and Housing said that the housing price index (HPI), a composite measure which accounts for changes in a number of housing-related goods and services, increased only 0.4% in June compared to the previous month.
