LEBANESE PREMIER FOR FREE TRADE ZONE

Lebanon hopes for a free trade zone to be set up and boost its trade with Russia, Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri said to the Russian Industrialists' and Entrepreneurs' Guild.
Lebanese imports from Russia currently amount to an annual US$6 billion, with vast opportunities for an increase, he remarked.
The Premier looks forward to closer agricultural contacts and larger information exchanges. Gas industry also has good partnership prospects.
Lebanon will sign an agreement with the European Union next week to give it a status equal to European countries as importer, added the Prime Minister.
