If you are between the ages of three to ninety-three, consider the CIM Preparatory and Continuing Education Division for you or your child’s music education. Since 1920, CIM has provided excellent teaching, emphasizing the development of individual potential, and instilling a lifelong appreciation for, and support of, the musical arts. As happens with outstanding teaching, some students will become professional musicians.

The CIM community provides a wealth of musical and educational resources to augment music lessons. Inspiration can be drawn from orchestral, and chamber music concerts, opera and faculty recitals of the highest caliber. The National Marionette Theatre’s Rip van Winkle and the Platypus Theatre’s, Emily Saves the Orchestra are examples of the entertaining family/children’s concert series presented each season. The CIM library has an outstanding collection of books, CDs and videos for children in the Preparatory Collection. It also offers the latest in technology and an extensive collection of videos, CD’s, LPs and reference materials for young people and adults. The CIM Bookstore is the place to purchase music and it provides an interesting and wide-ranging selection of books and records.

Skills learned during the course of studying music, whatever the age, enhance the quality of life and nurture the human spirit.
