Flashback to Oct. 27, 2001 -- it's a chilly day, and the Penn State football team (1-4) is down 27-9 against Ohio State. Somehow the team pulls together to come back and win 29-27, garnering Joe Paterno's record-breaking 324th win, making him the NCAA Division I-A all-time victories leader.

Four years ago, singer-songwriter Greg Klyma embarked on what he calls his "never-ending tour." He hasn't looked back since.

James Bond is back (again) to save the world (again) and sleep with more women (again). While Die Another Day proves to be the best Bond outing since 1995's Goldeneye, it fails to leave a lasting impression, by taking a surprisingly intriguing and realistic plot and undermining it with cartoony effects of almost science-fiction proportions.

Look who's bleeping back, just in time for the holidays.

In 1975, Bob Dylan embarked on tour.

The Roots is one of rap's only surviving purist live bands. In the musical world, the group is known for its organic sound, provided by live musicians and human beatbox/turntablists. But in the recording world, the group is known for its meticulous production and nit-picky attention to detail.

As the discrepancies between Country Music Television and VH1 slowly begin to fade, Tim McGraw couldn't be happier. With his latest release, Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors, the Louisiana crooner presents a mix of adult contemporary songs masked as country music.

Solaris is a metaphysical rumination on memory and death, both of which are favorite subjects of mine. It's a movie that I think a lot of people will enjoy -- and a lot of people will hate.

As many students rushed to their classes to escape the frigid temperatures yesterday, Melanie Lobaido (senior-agricultural ecosystems sciences) sat below a tree for an hour, allowing passers-by squeeze honey on her head.

Ladies and gentlemen, whether you like it or not, Hedwig -- one flamboyant transsexual rock star -- is coming to Late Night Penn State.

Because Hedwig and the Angry Inch is played out as a concert, the central force in the show is naturally Hedwig's band and its music.

Hell is other people. This is the theme of Jean Paul Sartre's No Exit, which will be the last performance of No Refund Theatre's fall season. The play will be performed at 9 p.m. today and 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday in 111 Forum.

The Orchesis Dance Company finds it easier to describe life through leaps, whirls, steps and swings.

Winterfest, one of the largest performances put on by the School of Music, is just in time to lift spirits during the winter blues. The concert is at 4 p.m. Sunday at Eisenhower Auditorium.

The Brewery, 233 E. Beaver Ave., will be open late for breakfast on Wednesday. But we're not talking eggs, bacon and a side of toast here.

Fed up with all those festive jingling bells?

Pickin'. Grinnin'. Perhaps both at the same time. That's what's in store at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night, as the Acoustic Brew brings Dry Branch Fire Squad to State College's Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 780 Waupelani Drive.

Take one part Jackie Chan, and add one part Ron Jeremy. Sprinkle in a little cheese, and the final result will be Orgazmo, a hilarious send up of both the action and porno genres.

Making a great album is a feat many artists try to tackle throughout their careers. Drugs have been consumed, lives have been lost, band members have been fired and rehired, way too many songs have been written -- all to compile a record that emotes a certain feeling from start to finish.

Although downtown State College offers a fine assortment of dining opportunities, sometimes it's nice to get out for a change.

The annual Kane/Messenger Holiday Art Show will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Art Alliance Art Center, 818 Pike St., Lemont.
