Two of Scotland's top sports personalities have received prestigious awards.
Cyclist Chris Hoy was given the inaugural Scottish Sportsperson of the Year accolade.
And golfer Catriona Matthew is to receive an honorary degree from the University of Stirling.
Hoy, from Edinburgh, is the Commonwealth and former world track cycling kilo champion.
He became the first first holder of the Lonsdale Trophy awarded by the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland.
Hoy received his award at the Commonwealth Sports Awards ceremony held at Glasgow City Chambers.
English runner Paula Radcliffe and Australian swimmer Ian Thorpe were named the outstanding female and male athletes of the year.
Meanwhile, Stirling University will confer an honorary degree of doctor of the university on Matthew for her contribution to the community and the university.
Matthew embarked on an undergraduate course in financial studies there in 1986 and, during the following five years, developed into the finest golfer of her generation.
She won the Scottish and British Universities' Championships and represented British Universities at the World Students' golf championships.
Matthew turned professional in 1994 and qualified for the Ladies' Professional Golf Association Tour in 1995.
She won her first tournament on the US tour in Hawaii in 2001.
