10/5/03 Men's Golf Takes Third Place at Franklin Street Partners Invitational The University of Kentucky men's golf team took home its second top-five finish of the fall season when it placed third at North Carolina's Franklin Street Partners Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 5. The 21st-ranked Wildcats had a final round score of 303, while junior John Holmes finished at even par to take fifth-place honors in the event. (more) 10/4/03 Kentucky in Third after Day Two at Franklin Street Invitational The No. 21 University of Kentucky men's golf team shot a day two team 299 to remain in third place after two rounds of play at the Franklin Street Partners Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. North Carolina leads No. 6 Georgia Southern by one stroke for the lead, followed by the Cats who sit five strokes back. (more) 10/3/03 Wildcats Tied for 3rd after First Round at Franklin Street Invitational The No. 21 Kentucky men's golf team finished day one of the Franklin Street Partners Invitational tied for third place with SEC foe, Alabama, with a team total 292. North Carolina, the host team of the tournament, leads after shooting a first round 287 followed by No. 6 Georgia Southern, 288. Junior All-American John Holmes was UK's top performer of day one. The Campbellsville, Ky., native shot a four-under par 68 to end the day in third place behind Georgia Southern's Toshi Hirata (65) and Ted Smith (66) from North Carolina.
