Sash 'n' sass ...
There are times I'd like to metaphorically thwack Cardinal George with his crosier. But . . . it's probably a safe bet his eminence thinks this columnist is a nettlesome tsetse fly he'd like to smack with a swatter.

Segal story ...
I'm not pointing fingers, but insurance mogul Michael "Mickey" Segal's trial on racketeering, tax conspiracy and mail fraud, etc. charges, is a page turner. Consider this tidbit from Segal's handlers: Thomas McNichols, former CFO of Near North Insurance, testified last week that he had worn a wire and worked with government prosecutors. But Segal's handlers claim while he was working with the government, preparing financial documents to ensnare Segal, McNichols was still taking Segal's money to the tune of $166,000 a year in salary, a $50,000 bonus and a $250,000 severance package that he negotiated for himself.
