Roman sandals are back!Add to Clippings

[ WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 04, 2004 05:30:10 AM ]
Emperor Nero wore sandals of gold and the Emperor Adrian had leather shoes studded with precious stones. Anyway, Roman sandals are back in vogue. And secondly, swarovski, sequins, stones and beads — these ornate embellishments — are no longer restricted to your garments and jewelleries.

Roman sandals are proving to be a great hit with the entire teen brigade. It goes perfectly with those short skirts and fluorescent capris. And Priyanka Chopra's bright tie-ups from Mujhse Shadi Karogi is one good indicator perhaps.

But what about the colours? Akshat Kapoor, maker and retailer of trendy footwears, said, "Last year, it was red. This year, all colours are in demand." Coming back to Nero's gold sandals, an entire bridal section exists even in this segment. This segment caters not only to the brides-to-be, but to anyone who wants to look and feel special. Antique gold, brocade, crystals and stones — the list is endless.
