People don't protest right-wing speakers
I would like to address the current controversy concerning Michael Moore in a new and different way. It is clear that University Park Allocations Committee funds have been used in the past for partisan speakers. This is not strange or different or even an unjust activity. Ann Coulter is a good example. I can think of no one more partisan than her, yet her funding came partially through UPAC. If the university backs down and takes back the funding for Michael Moore it will resonate with a sad tone indeed. What all this controversy (that did not spring up when conservative speakers arrived) does show us is something about the nature of the "partisan bias" on this campus. There were protesters for Teresa Heinz-Kerry and there will probably be more for Moore, but I saw no protesters when I attended Ann Coulter or Robert Novak, and there were none at Michelle Malkin's speech last night. To those who say there is a liberal bias at Penn State: Look at the evidence with open eyes. Erin Riley
