Past issues of the student newspapers that preceded The Daily Collegian, dating from 1887 through May 1940, are now available online.
The Collegian Alumni Interest Group (AIG) is urging Collegian alumni to save the dates of Oct. 29-31 for another outstanding reunion.

As the staff of the 2003-2004 News Division began its year, it was faced with the toughest of competition from a multi-million-dollar corporation. It's not often a student organization has to compete head on with a corporation, but that's exactly what we did at the Collegian.
The Daily Collegian's Board of Directors elected James S. Young (journalism) as editor in chief and Julie Columbus (marketing) as business manager for the 2004-05 academic year.
The car pulled into the parking lot of the conference hotel in Hershey a few minutes before the session was set to begin. I was driving with another Collegian senior riding shotgun, and two younger reporters napping in the back seat. The four of us were representing The Daily Collegian at the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association's Keystone Press Awards luncheon.
The Collegian Chronicles
Legendary coach Joe Paterno was there. So was Penn State President Graham Spanier. Former Collegian editors John Troan and John Black were there as well, to offer readings and remember the man. In fact, people from all across the Penn State community, including many who have forged places in Daily Collegian history, came to the memorial service in late December to celebrate the life of Ross B. Lehman, and in most appropriate fashion, they came together at the close to sing Sentimental Journey.
