Early wipe outs in social networking tsunami

UK based social networking sites Buddy Network and Pollen have decided to close their communities.

Buddy Network was a business community network with a slightly funkier bent than similar sites like ecademy. The site emailed members and told them that it was closing up shop.

Pollen has been rolled into the Sense Worldwide site and the brand has been retired, but it may return. Pollen was a community of taste makers. Sense continues on scanning blogs looking for societial trends and carrying out research on behalf of many major companies including Gillette, J Walter Thompson, Warner Music and Sony.
