InterViews 3.0
InterViews is a system for building and using interactive software. Written in C++, InterViews provides a set of C++ class libraries with high-level abstractions for implementing interactive programs. InterViews includes specific support for resolution-independent graphics, sophisticated document formatting, and graphical connectivity. InterViews currently runs on top of the X window system.

pcnfsd for IRIX 5.3
A UNIX 'daemon' used by PC-based NFS clients. It provides user name and password authentication for networked PCs which have installed NFS client software. pcnfsd can also be used to provide printer spooling.

Perl 5
An interpreted language optimized for scanning arbitrary text files, extracting information from those text files, and printing reports based on that information. It's also a good language for many system management tasks.

POP Server Under IRIX 5.3
A telnet-like program that resides in a computer you designate as an SMTP mail server.

SPIM: an instruction level simulator
SPIM allows you to run MIPS assembly on various UNIX platforms (e.g. MIPS, DEC, SUN and more). SPIM also contains an X-windows interface which greatly simplifies the student's debugging task. Spim comes from University of Wisconsin-Madison and was written by Professor Jim Larus.

A powerful, extensible text editor with full GUI support, initially based on an early version of GNU Emacs 19 from the Free Software Foundation and since kept up to date with recent versions of that product.

A small (.25 meg), high-speed, general-purpose, cut-and-paste editor written for SGI IRIS-4D workstations by Tom Davis.
