TAO, (The ACE ORB)

TAO is a high performance, C CORBA 2.5 ORB. Originally designed for real-time and supports the OMG RT CORBA version 1 spec, it is also widely used in general purpose circumstances and exhibits scalable and deterministic behavior. TAO spans a wide varity of platforms including RTOSs and is used in complex infrastructure projects requiring support for open standards and easy distribution. TAO is open source and has a zero cost license model. It is widely used in telcom, defence and financial services industries.
