Really bad design versus very good programming
There was a time when I would deride the developer for their limited imagination, but then I started teaching myself to be a programmer, and I could then see into their world through their eyes. Needless to say, it was an eye-opener.

When it comes to education in silos it seems what is really implied is education as a narrow kind of knowledge transfer. A real education allows for both depth in a subject matter and the ability to apply it across a breadth of experiences.

You learn from the silo just how deep and complex other silos can be. You then go through the "aha" realization of just what a tiny speck of knowledge one can acquire in any school at any job on any trip from any texts, etc. throughout one's life. When you reach the "aha" you then use what you've learned before and after school, etc to fine tune insights/instincts/intuition/sprituality in a more sophisticated form of trial and error... and develop the ability to spot patterns, parallels, deeper insights that span silos and seek out subject matter experts/counsel at each turn.

Everyone knows more than you about something, less than you about something... the network of people you select then shapes your insight and experiences. Thats is one of the reasons I'm jazzed about AO. Imagine the possibilities of virtual networks of people from different disciplines, with different backgrounds, but with a common interest in growth and knowledge and the development of intuition... who are always connected, Always On.

Hence, perhaps even deeper M., that "...level awareness that created them" is the soul rather than the "heart" to which you refer. And, if you accept that premise, then we all live in that terrible irony of being our truer/better selves both within and without of our home's. In other words, that we endeavor to be whole/integrated selves no matter what we do nor where we are nor who we're with or not with. Sort of like the quip - you know you have integrity when you do something right, even though no one is watching. Yes?

When I reference the life of Mileva Maric Einstein, I find that even a genius can solve some of the greatest problems but leave a whole lot of others unsolved. Note the last line of this Wikepedia link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mileva_Maric

" Mileva spent the rest of her life struggling to support herself and her children, including a psychotic son"

We don't really know the full extent of how the circle of people Einstein assisted or helped him with his problem solving, but what I think lies at the heart of awareness in the 21st Century is integrity of the whole. We have all lived and been educated in silos and specialism so long that we now face the challenge of awareness that looks beyond our inherited and self-created boundaries.

At the heart of this statement is purposeful thinking and I certainly support that. Albert Einstein did try to look beyond boundaries but he concentrated on nuclear threats and grand social issues, IMHO it didn't seen to enter his awareness that humanity is built in the home first and so his quote is filled with irony.
