    PREPARATIONS

    25 Years ago Sowetan students' uprising ... the beginning of a new dawn and
    the end Apartheid. Preparations for the June 16 celebrations and
    fundraising for this day's events will start from 27 May 2001. Drag queen
    shows, African pop music, dance until you drop and feel the soul of Africa!
    Venue: Scandals pub and Club 430 in 430 Commissioner Street, Fairview. Open
    24 hours, 7 days a week. Sunday shows include: lunch and/or braai, cabaret
    shows at 15h00 until 18h00 and Africa's queen of pop... All events help to
    fund 16 June events (to be announced).

    DUTCH PREMIERE OF DARK 'N LOVELY, SOFT 'N FREE

    Presenter Zackie Radebe will attend the Dutch premiere of Dark 'n Lovely,
    Soft 'n Free, a documentary by Paolo Alberton and Graeme Reid on South
    Africa's rural gay hairdressers.
    Date: 11 June 2001. Venue: COC. After the viewing a performance by Raymond

    ANNUAL PRIDE PARADE AND MARDI GRASS

    Participate and celebrate South Africa's 12th annual lesbian and gay pride
    parade and mardi grass. This year's theme: Out There Everywhere. Get
    involved! The organizing committee's entertainment sub-committee is looking
    for performers, artists and entertainers. Fundraisers are also needed
