How do I get my site listed on Technorati?
Technorati is an automated search engine that employs robots known as "spiders" to discover content on your site and its feeds. Please ping Technorati with each addition and update to your site to prompt our spiders to index your new content.
How can I produce better content for indexing?

Help our spiders find your content in its entirety by outputting valid markup for your web pages and feeds.

The W3C Markup Validation Service will help you identify and correct markup errors on your site. Modern spiders can work around some errors but it is best to provide as little work as possible to index your site and display all of your content the way it is meant to be displayed.

Technorati also indexes your feed to retrieve additional information and discern document structure. Feed Validator will help you verify the markup of your site's syndication feeds and identify possible points of improvement.

How can I expose my full posts?

Technorati indexes the home page of your weblog assisted by the content of your web feeds. If the home page of your weblog contains summaries or plain-text with no links Technorati may not recognize and index your full posts.

If you use the Atom syndication format to publish the content of your weblog Technorati can still index the full text of your post regardless of your content choices on your weblog home page. Just include your entire post within the content element of each entry and we will recognize this content as the full content of your post.

How can I better identify each post?

Technorati breaks up your weblog's home page into smaller sections such as posts and sidebars. You can help Technorati's spiders properly identify a unique post and its proper link destination by adding a link with a defined relationship of "bookmark" for each post. For example:

<a href="http://blog.bloghost.com/post1" rel="bookmark">Post title</a>

Why might Technorati not index my tagged links?

Technorati indexes the body of your weblog post and attempts to assign tags to unique posts. You should include your tagged links in the body of your post, usually in the same input box as you type your posts. You should also check to make sure you include a defined tag relationship of rel="tag" for each link you would like indexed as a post tag.

Technorati associates tags with a unique post. If Technorati cannot identify unique posts on your page we cannot assign a tag to a post.

How do I claim a blog?
Technorati visits your blog looking for a special snippet of HTML to let us associate your blog with a Technorati user. If you have inserted the proper HTML snippet on your blog home page, sent us a ping, and your claim is still in process please check to make sure the claim code placed on your weblog matches the claim code Technorati is trying to match. Please visit your Technorati member account page for more information about your blog claims.
