Printing has never been easier. Mac OS X Tiger’s streamlined printing system gives you instant access to your most frequently used printing preferences all in one convenient location. Just open the Print & Fax utility in System Preferences and you’re a click away from setting up a new printer, choosing a default paper size, letting others share your printer, even reordering supplies.

Hundreds of Printers

Tiger now includes more printer drivers than ever, supporting hundreds of printers from Brother, Canon, EPSON, HP, Lexmark and Xerox. Tiger also bundles the GIMP-Print open source printer driver project, giving you access to even more printers.

Desktop Printer

Desktop Publishing

Want to see your printer on your Desktop? No problem. Tiger lets you create an icon of your printer and place it on your desktop for easy drag-and-drop printing. Now you can print a document without even opening it. Just drag its icon to the printer icon.

Reduce Waste

Nothing’s worse than a pile of wasted paper containing failed print jobs. Tiger’s print preview feature lets you reduce the waste by giving you a color-accurate onscreen rendition of your print job that reflects all of your settings — before you commit it to paper. Or save it to a PDF for later reference — perfect for online shopping receipts.

Built-in Faxing

If you think about it, faxing is just remote printing. That’s why Tiger integrates its built-in faxing feature with its printing system. When you open the Print & Fax utility in System Preferences, you’ll notice the Faxing tab where you can set up your computer to receive faxes. When you go to print any document from any application that prints, you’ll see that the Print dialog contains a Fax button that lets you send the document as a fax using your Mac’s built-in modem. It couldn’t be simpler.
