Built for Mac OS X and optimized for the Power Mac G5, Adobe Creative Suite 2 delivers full new versions of Adobe’s professional imaging and design tools for print, Web, and mobile publishing, including Adobe Photoshop CS2 with ImageReady CS2, Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, GoLive CS2, and Acrobat 7.0 Professional. Adobe has also released Version Cue CS2, an updated version of its integrated file version management software. Fully integrated, the applications that comprise Creative Suite 2 share common commands, palettes, and keyboard shortcut, making it easy to switch from one member of the Suite to another and to realize productivity gains as a result. In addition, Creative Suite 2 lets you manage color settings centrally and to establish common Adobe PDF settings among the Creative Suite 2 applications you use.
New to the suite, Adobe Bridge functions as a productivity hub for locating, managing, and sharing the media assets you’d like to use in your documents. These include Adobe Stock Photos. Creative Suite 2 provides access to more than 230,000 photos and illustrations from several leading stock image libraries, and Adobe Bridge lets you search, try, manage, and buy any of the high-quality, royalty-free images you fancy for your publications.
As before, Creative Suite 2 comes in two editions: the Premium Edition and the Standard Edition, which includes all of the components discussed above except Adobe GoLive CS2 and Acrobat 7.0 Professional. You can purchase either full or upgrade versions of either edition.
