CatStevens.Com Review
"A Tribute To Cat Stevens (Bio)" gives us Bub Roberts (Bio)' instrumental guitar take on several of Cat's songs. My first impression of this album was not of Bub's superb guitar playing but on the poor sound quality. This disc was not recorded well. It actually sounds like the guitars were not miked, but were instead recorded directly from pickups. One of the better tracks is Roberts' take on Stevens' "I'm Gonna Get Me A Gun (Song)." It is oddly melodic and interesting in this instrumental setting. Having said that, this release will likely be of interest to serious fans and collectors only.
