The Soup proudly announces the $25,000 Cybersmack contest and has opened the floodgates to your original--and surely brilliant--short films and viral videos. Between March 31 and May 1, send us your mini masterpiece, so that you can enter for your chance at a huge cash prize.

This is the space to share videos from Noise Pop, San Francisco's own indie music festival, taking place this year from March 27 through April 2 and featuring seven nights of music, a music-themed film festival, educational panels featuring Indie Night School and an Urban Fair/Record Swap/Poster show too.

Here's how it works: We'll pick one Fan Correspondent for each show and give them a ten minute interview with one or more band members plus free reign to document the show on video in any way you want--you can interview fans, fight the merch guy, or just set up the camera and let it roll. It's all up to you.
There are only three rules:
1) The band interview will be no more than 10 minutes
2) You have to use your own video camera
3) You have to edit and upload your footage to our YouTube group within a few days of the show

You are about to get deeply involved in the "Follow The Beast" Google mash-up for Mogwai - the rock band from Scotland. The site is located at http://mr.beastmap.com (check it out). "Follow The Best" works like a tour diary - except that you can get involved...deeply involved. So, take your video recorders or video cameras to the shows.
Mogwai's US tour started on March 1, 2006 in Chicago and ends at SXSW in Austin. This YouTube group lets you add your videos to the mash-up. You can add your videos to this group, but you must tag your videos with "tour0" and "fan" to show up in the video gallery below the map. Then, you can also tag your video with the appropriate tour stop (e.g. "chicago") and it will show up when someone clicks on the tour map point. We will approve these and publish to "http://mr.beastmap.com".

For those of you not familiar with Mogwai - they are a Scottish five piece band that formed in 1995. They've since gone on to develop their distinctive style of apocalyptic, yet deeply humanised noise across four albums, establishing the transcendentally effective quiet-loud/quiet-loud dynamic as their very own and spawning a generation of imitators.
Known as an amazing live band, we hope your videos help to share the Mogwai experience with those not quite lucky enough to have seen them in action on a stage. They are also a group of geeks fond of technology - often just as likely to be typing away an email before a show as they are tuning their guitars. So, the mash-up is a perfect reflection of the band themselves and their fans.
Mogwai's brand new album, 'Mr Beast' is the band's fifth studio album and, as the title suggests, sees them returning to their first, true love - Rock with a capital "R".
