CD Key

A CD Key is a unique number provided with each purchase of a video game, usually required to install and/or play online. It is important to note that you should never share your CD Keys with anyone. The Neverwinter Nights Technical FAQ has information on how to find your CD Key.

Please note: The CD Keys contained in either the original retail box of Neverwinter Nights, the retail box of the Gold Edition, and the retail box for the Platinum Edition of Neverwinter Nights are all compatible with the BioWare Online Store.

CVV

This is a 3 digit number located at the back of your credit card after your regular card number on the signiture strip. It is used to help ensure security of your transaction.

Gift Code

An easy way to purchase a premium Neverwinter Nights adventure for someone else is to buy a Gift Code. This is a special code that you can give your friend to allow them to download the product you have purchased. They do not have to pay anything to redeem this code.

Another use for the Gift Code is to allow you to make a purchase before you meet the game requirements. For example, let us say you wish to purchase Neverwinter Nights: Kingmaker but do not have the expansion pack Hordes of the Underdark, which is one of the requirements, installed on your computer. You can purchase a Gift Code for Kingmaker right now and redeem it later for the actual adventure when you have installed Hordes of the Underdark onto your computer.

IP Address

Each computer communicating over the Internet is assigned a unique IP address. We store your IP address with each transaction you make on the BioWare Online Store for security purposes.

Internet Connection While Playing

An Internet connection for premium Neverwinter Nights modules is needed when starting a new game or when loading a saved game. This is because Neverwinter Nights needs to authenticate with our servers to verify that you have purchased the module. If Neverwinter Nights cannot communicate with our server when starting a new game or loading a saved game, you will not be able to play the module.

The Store FAQ has information on proper router settings to allow a module purchased at the BioWare Online Store to have Internet access, and 3rd party software firewall configuration settings.

Module

The name for a complete story that can be played within Neverwinter Nights. You will see the term 'module' used interchangabley with the term 'adventure'. For example, Neverwinter Nights: Kingmaker is a complete module and a complete adventure.
