Famously winning eight Grammys for her 2003 debut Come Away With Me; Norah's smokey, autumnal voice may alienate some, but undoubtedly enchants millions.

NORAH JONES IN ONE MINUTE

Norah is the daughter of famous Indian musician Ravi Shankar, but lived away from him for most of her childhood.
Her 2003 eight Grammy sweep was only ever equalled by two other female artists - Lauryn Hill and Alicia Keys.
As well as working with Dolly Parton and Garth Hudson of The Band, Norah Jones recorded a track with OutKast on their album Speakerboxxx / The Love Below.
Norah studied jazz piano at the University of North Texas, but dropped out after two years when she became hooked on the New York music scene.
As for the coolest thing she's ever done - she reckons it was her appearance on US kids' TV show Sesame Street.
