"When I did the Fame Academy Tour I really saw that my audience is very broad...On my albums, I want to pull in the street side and make sure there's enough there for them, because that's where I from, but I also don't want to lose the audience that I built up on TV. So, it's basically soulful R&B, that's the base, and when I do mainstream it's tasteful and in keeping with that."

LEMAR IN ONE MINUTE |
- During Fame Academy, Lemar got to perform a duet with one of his idols, Lionel Richie, singing 'Easy like Sunday Morning'.
- The day after leaving the show, he was invited to duet with Beverly Knight live at the Hammersmith Apollo.
- Lemar lists Michael Jackson, Al Green, R Kelly and Stevie Wonder as musical influences.
- The first single he ever bought was SWV's "Right Here".
- Won Best British Urban Act at the Brit Awards 2004, and was presented the award by the Neptunes.
- Before getting his big break, he used to work as an accounts manager at a bank.
- On his debut album, Dedicated, Lemar worked with a variety of star producers, including JD from So Solid Crew, Skillz and Cutfather & Joe.
