everything you need to know about
Tim Buckley Tim Buckley
One of rock's greatest and most 'out there' vocalists. He began singing in the Californian folk scene of the mid-60s. As time went by his sound became more experimental, inspired by free - jazz rather than Bob Dylan, confusing fans and record company along the way.

TIM BUCKLEY IN ONE MINUTE
  • He had lovely curly hair
  • Starsailor, self-indulgent tosh or rock's most expressive moment? (You'll have to look in the second-hand shops to find out, it's deleted)
  • Greetings From LA is one of the filthiest records in popular music - a funky celebration of 70's rock star sex
  • Rumoured to have worked as Sly Stone's chauffeur
  • 80s indie supergroup, This Mortal Coil, had a hit with a cover of "Song To The Siren"
  • After a period of clean living he fell off the wagon to die of a heroin overdose. He was 28
  • His son Jeff inherited the incredible Buckley voice and also died tragically young, accidentally drowning in 1997
