Editorial: A rare women’s month.
August 2006: At least there’s progress in the struggle for the minorities this women’s month, and eventually will be success. Lest people wonder why progress while still with spate of arrests in other parts of Africa (as in Uganda recently as mentioned in Red Pepper Newspaper in that country), I reiterate that there’s at least progress and in parts victory.
Spain in Europe, recently, has promulgated and passed a law that permits same sex couples to wed, adopt children and inherit property the same way as heterosexuals. This is progress, and it might remove the tendency fraught with animosity and stigma, and probably influence other parts of the world – that’s putting Africa in the same bag, especially countries that are adamant on deploring homosexuals.
