Penn State University Police said they have no plans to scale down heightened security in South halls after two dorm room break-ins early Tuesday morning in which residents fought off an assailant.

Penn State's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) staff recently announced their initiative to host the Center for the Study of College Student Mental Health (CSCSMH), which aims at networking data from higher education counseling centers nationwide.

Despite having recently lost a family pet, Katie Merritt was smiling as she sat behind her booth on Allen Street yesterday.

As the rain fell, so did the corners of many young festival-goers mouths yesterday at the 40th Annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.

On a normal evening toward the end of June, four fully grown men walked through the aisles of Wal-Mart shopping for an odd assortment of essentials: pool noodles, Spiderman balls, big bouncy balls and wiffle ball bats. It must have looked like they were preparing for a child's birthday party.

Superman is back, and he's better than ever.

The Friday Concerts on the Lemont Village Green series continues this week when new local band Cootie Brown comes to play at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The Dixie Chicks really were "taking the long way" with their long-awaited fourth album, which was released in May.

Those craving timeless theater and intelligent social comedy shouldn't miss this weekend's Pygmalion, No Refund Theatre's (NRT) only production this summer.

Some of the more abstract pieces at the Palmer Museum of Art may seem a bit unworldly, but a new traveling exhibition opening at the museum this Tuesday literally is.

Permits and legalities have added months of delay to the opening of an Italian restaurant downtown, but the long-awaited Rotelli's will be up and running soon.

If you didn't have the chance to get out of town for vacation this summer, you may be in luck. A little bit of vacation is coming to State College this weekend for "Viva Las Vegas!"

In 1967, people coming to the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts could find anything ranging from baskets of kittens to tin can sculptures being sold along College Avenue.

Giant boulders filled most of S. Allen St. between College Ave. and Beaver Ave. during the days leading up to the Arts Festival.

Bob Fox and John McCartney put up decorations Monday for the Arts Festival.

As alumni fill the streets of State College next week, some will be doing what they had dreamed about as students -- exhibiting their talents in the 40th annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.

State College will be going bananas over this guy's art.

Although Robert Stadnycki's art might have changed over the last 20 years, he said he's still the same free spirit he was when he started.
