NEWS

The fighting in the Middle East -- the firing of missiles, direct strikes on civilian centers and rocket attacks on towns -- has sparked recent support efforts across college campuses.

As the temperatures rise, so do the prices on the sign at the gas station.

They beat out numerous teams from other schools to land second place, but science was the overall winner.

In early 2004 a 20-year-old man called the State College Police Department, noticeably intoxicated, complaining that he had just been kicked out of a party.

More Penn State students may now be saying "Bon Voyage" to their parents, friends and University Park.

SPORTS

For the first time in his life, former Penn State pitcher Alan Stidfole is following in his brother Sean's footsteps.

As State College Spikes left fielder Nathan Southard's simple fly ball bounced in front of and past diving center fielder James Barksdale, Spikes manager Mark DeJohn began to jump up and down as he waved Southard home for the rarest form of victory -- a walk-off inside-the-park home run.

Even though an extra-inning walk-off home run may be the part of last night's game that most fans remember, Matt Lane will remember yesterday as the best start of his professional career.

Baseball is a sport that induces childhood dreams and fantasies. Everyone's played Little League or at least pick-up Wiffle ball, so kids all over America sit and watch the major leaguers and wonder what it would be like to be in the clubhouse or even on the field.
