Master of King René of Anjou [Master of the Cueur d’amour espris]

( fl Anjou and Provence, c. 1440/45–c. 1470). Illuminator. He is named after his patron René I, King of Naples (reg 1438–42) and Duke of Anjou (reg 1434–80), for whom he produced his principal work, the Livre du cueur d’amour espris (Vienna, Österreich. Nbib., Cod. 2597).
