Master PM

( fl ?Lower Rhine, 1480–90). German engraver. His initials are found on the engraving of the Man of Sorrows on the Grave with Two Angels (see Lehrs, 1927 no. 4). Four unsigned engravings, few copies of which have survived, are attributed to him. They include a study sheet, unusual among early engravings, with figures of Adam and Eve (L 1). The good figure drawing and delicate engraving style suggest they may have been occasional works by a painter, rather than by a professional engraver. His style is very closely related to that of Master B.R.

Part of the Masters, anonymous, and monogrammists family
