Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one
individual to serve in his Administration: The President intends to
nominate Maria Cino, of Virginia, to be Deputy Secretary of
Transportation. Ms. Cino currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the
Republican National Committee. She previously served as Assistant
Secretary and Director General of the United States and Foreign
Commercial Service at the Department of Commerce. Prior to that, Ms.
Cino was Deputy Chairman for Political and Congressional Relations at
the Republican National Committee. She also served as National
Political Director for Bush for President. Earlier in her career, Ms.
Cino was a public policy and government affairs consultant for the
Washington, D.C. law firm of Wiley, Rein & Fielding. She received her
bachelor's degree from St. John Fisher College.
