Setting Up Your Page |
|
We call this section "setting up" your page, although you can follow these steps at any point. You certainly want to give your page a title that will appear in the browser title bar. You can also set options like background color and font colors.
|
You Try It: Set Up Your Page |
- From the Composer menu bar, select Format, Page Colors and Properties. The Page Properties dialog box will appear.
- Click the General tab to bring that panel to the front. In the Title text box, type a title for your page.
- To change the colors on your page, click the Colors and Background tab to bring that panel to the front.
- You can change colors for the following page elements:
- Normal Text (the regular, nonlinked words on the page)
- Link Text (links before you click them)
- Active Link Text (links while you're clicking them)
- Followed Link Text (links you've already visited)
- Background (the background of the page itself)
There are many different ways to select colors using Composer.
To change a particular option, click the color box to the left of the option's name. The Pick a Color dialog box will appear.
- In the Pick a Color dialog box, click one of the options in the left-hand pane. Then click a color to choose it.
- When you find a color you like, click OK to close the Pick a Color dialog box and return to the Page Properties dialog box.
- Repeat steps 4 through 7 for each color you want to change. When you're done, click OK to close the Page Properties dialog box and apply your title and colors to the page.
Now your page is ready for prime time!

Tips for New Users |
|
You can use a background image instead of a background color. In the Colors and Background panel of the Page Properties dialog box, click the Image checkbox. The Open dialog box will appear. Select an image to use and click Open. Then in the Page Properties dialog box, click Apply to preview the background image, or click OK to apply the image and return to the Composer window.
