Pro Gamers to be tested for drugs

The Cyberathlete Professional League will be testing pro gamers entering its events for drugs like crystal meth

Founder and president of the CPL Angel Munoz has said that the new terms and conditions for the company going forward will include the provision for testing players for performance enhancing drugs.

"The potential for drugs being an issue absolutely concerns me. It should concern anybody in eSports, because as the stakes get larger, as in any sport, people will look for an edge," said Munoz.

Gamers entering any CPL events in 2007 and beyond will be required to take a drug test. "We have very strict rules about illegal drugs. In 2007, we are going to have the right to drug test someone. It's going to have to be this way," Munoz added. Read more here.

Red Bull will still be allowed though.
