About the NSWP
In 1991 an informal alliance of sex workers and organizations that provide services to sex workers formed as the Network of Sex Work Projects. In 2002 the Network established a secretariat in Cape Town which moved to Rio de Janeiro in 2003. In 2005 NSWP moved its headquarters to Hong Kong and incorporated as a limited liability company. NSWP is a legally constituted international organisation for promoting sex workers' health and human rights. With member organizations in more than 40 countries, the Network develops partnerships with technical support agencies to work on independently-financed projects. NSWP is currently in the process of establishing a new official board of directors, made up of regional representatives from Asia Pacific, Africa, Latin America, Europe and North America.
