From the desk of Robin McGill, Chief Executive and Secretary

Hello and welcome to this new service from the IET in which I wish to give our Members a better opportunity to have their voice heard within the Institution.

My aim is to ensure Member engagement with the IET remains as strong as possible and throughout 2007 I will be delivering regular webcasts covering aspects of IET business, performance and development via IET.tv. These will be live sessions supported by an interactive question and answer forum for you to post your questions direct to me in real time.

And, because we want the topics in each webcast to be led by you, we have set up a dedicated email box and discussion forum to which you can post your questions in advance by sending an email to myvoice@theiet.org or posting them to the discussion forum. In each of my webcasts I will undertake to explore and comment on the issues that have prompted the most questions and debate.

The discussion forum will remain in place so that comments and suggestions relating to the questions and my answers will be available for all to contribute.

To set the scene for future live webcasts, I have pre-recorded a presentation outlining my vision for the IET and to encourage your questions and thoughts going forward. This is available on IET.tv (www.iet.tv) in the News channel or can be accessed directly below.
