Welcome New Students in 2007

Enrolment

 

Students who have successfully applied to enrol in Civil Engineering through UAC will receive information from the University and UAC on how to accept the offer and how to enrol. Students will need to visit the Univesity in person to enrol.

Welcome to The University of Sydney and particularly the School of Civil Engineering.

In choosing to enrol as a student of Civil Engineering at The University of Sydney, you are preparing yourself for a challenging and rewarding career, and a great time at uni for the next 4 or 5 years.

I encourage you to take advantage of the resources The University will provide for you at enrolment time and in Orientation Week (28 Feb - 2 March) to help you in the transition to the University lifestyle.

I specifically invite you all to attend engineering activities commencing at 11 am on Friday 2 March 2007, which will include a welcome from the Dean of Engineering and student representatives, a free BBQ and the "Welcome to Civil Engineering" lecture at 2 pm.

Engineering Activities During Orientation Week

 

The Faculty’s orientation for new students commencing in 2007 is on Friday 2 March in the Farrell Lecture Theatre and PNR Lecture Theatre (PNR Building). The School of Civil Engineering welcome will be held at 2 pm in Civil Engineering Lecture Room 1. Click here for the map of where you can find us.

Please note: The program is held in both lecture theatres in reverse order to enable all students to see Dr Karl.

SWOT 2007

SWOT stands for Sydney Welcom Orientation and Transition which is designed to help you to get to know the University and its services. Faculties, the Library and central student support services work together in the SWOT Program to assist you in becoming familiar with the University.

The SWOT Program for enrolled undergraduate students begins with Orientation in the week prior to the commencement of your studies and continues throughout your first year offering a wide range of student support activities. The SWOT Program is part of the First Year Experience at the University.
