Wind Engineering Services

Wind Engineering Services (WES) are a specialised branch of the Fluids group internationally recognised for its research and industrial consulting activities in the field of wind engineering.

WES employs a number of specialist and experienced staff and research students undertaking a variety of research projects, many of which are closely linked to consulting services.

The Fluids group of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Sydney are responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, of fluid mechanics and dynamics, and research. Staff members of the Fluids group have particular interests in water engineering and wind engineering.

Consulting and Testing Services in Wind Engineering

  • Environmental Testing
  • Cladding Pressures
  • Structural Pressures
  • Dynamic Testing

Visit the consulting services and facilities pages of WES for more details.

Research in Wind Engineering

Staff in Wind Engineering Services have research projects that are closely related to many of the consulting activities.

Some current research topics include thunderstorm downburst modelling, advanced techniques in wind load/pressure measurement and prediction, and turbine power generation.

Our research topics can be viewed in the Environmental Fluids group website.
