ILDC Leadership Development Involves Young Muslims

btm_img03.gifISNA Youth and Leadership development center with the Islamic Center of Hawthorne of Los Angles, California successfully organized one day youth program on January 6, 2007. The underlying objective of the program was to address the challenges and issues facing to the Muslim youth. Sessions focused on specific topics such as cross cultural communication with elders, ethics of disagreement, conflict prevention and resolution, achieving a successful youth programs.

ISNA Leadership Development Center & Salam institute for Peace and Justice proudly presents the Second Annual Conference of Muslim Peace building,Justice & Interfaith Dialogue.

This conference aims to create an opportunity for Muslim scholars and practitioners to convene to discuss and clarify main concepts and approaches to peacebuilding, conflict resolution, human rights, democratization and development rooted in the Islamic tradition; to contribute to effective policy development in the Muslim world in the fields of governance, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding.  It provides a platform for Muslim Peacebuilding practitioners to share their experiences on the ground with the wider community of Muslim and non-Muslim scholars and practitioners in order to contribute to theory building and practice of conflict resolution in the Muslim world.

Cultural Transformation and Team Building in Houston, TX

U.S. Government and American Muslims Engage to Define Islamophobia

He argued that increasingly Islam is being presented as a violent and intolerant religion and this message is spreading from the margins to the mainstream. A report entitled “Blaming Islam” authored by Dr. Safi and published by the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding was released at the event.

ILDC Supports Ramadan Education and Charity

(Bloomington, Indiana - Thursday, October 12, 2006) More than 150 people were packed wall-to-wall in the Greenleaf Room of Forest Quad on Wednesday night, participating in the Muslim Student Union's annual Fast-a-thon. The program, which involves participants voluntarily fasting for one day and then eating a large meal after dark, is held during the holy month of Ramadan.

The event centers around a major facet of Ramadan: refraining from food, drink and sexual intercourse from dawn to dusk for 30 days. The Fast-a-thon also raises money for the Community Kitchen of Monroe County since local businesses donated money for each participant who signed up.

Executive Director Joins Several Religious Leaders in Calling for Deplomatic Solution to Standoff with Iran

In a conversation with the press, Dr. Safi, representing the Islamic Society of North Aemrica ISNA, pointed out that relying “heavily on military threats and strikes is morally wrong, as it is counterproductive . . The Iraq war has already demonstrated that relying on military power is wrong.”

ILDC Hosts Muslim Alliance of Indiana's Retreat

The event organized by the Muslim Alliance of Indiana, a statewide organization that seeks to connect 280,000 Muslim Hoosiers to each other and their public leadership, brought together Muslim organizations and leaders to attend the day long retreat.
