Photocopying Service: Please note our charges have been revised as of the 03/01/06

  • Available to Members and Non Members Worldwide under the terms of the UK Copyright Law. Members get preferential rates.
  • Non-members get a preferential rate only after they have had a literature seach by one of our Information Officers.
  • We are permitted to provide "commercial" copies for Institution publications only.
  • Non-commercial copying applies for all other publications.
  • Delivery by post, fax or email (contact library for availability)
  • Our aim is to supply photocopies within 48 hours of receiving the request.

Requesting Articles: Requests for articles can be made in the following ways:

Please visit the online catalogue to see if the journal you require a photocopy from is available.

Copyright Declaration/Payment Forms:

  • A copyright declaration/payment form has to be sent out first to all customers for all non Institution article requests.
  • For Institution article requests, copyright/payment forms can be sent out along with the articles. Members only.
  • A form is sent out per every article requested and can be sent out to the customer either by post, fax or by email in Word format.
  • These forms must be sent back to us along with your signature and payment.
  • Articles are sent out when completed forms are returned by the customer to the library
  • All forms must be sent back either by post or fax:

Member rates apply to non-members who have had a search carried out by one of our Information Officers.

Inter-library Loans: Available for members, Deposit Account Customers and other libraries only Cost: £10.00 Sterling per item

If an article or book is not held within our stock, the Library can try and obtain a copy of the item from another source, e.g The British Library Document Supply Centre or another UK library. Book requests can be ordered for UK customers only and not overseas customers. Using our Inter-library loan service can take between 1-2 weeks depending on the availability of the item. A full bibliographic reference is required for each item.

Non-Members are able to use this service only after they have had a literature search by one of our Information officers. Non-members can also try using the British Library Articles Direct Service to obtain an item not held in our stock.

Urgent Requests: Articles and books requested urgently the same or next day can be requested from the British Library, at a charge of £20.00 Sterling per item. Subject to availability. Articles can either be supplied by fax or posted to customers straight from the British Library.

Deposit Accounts:

Deposit accounts for non-commercial photocopy requests can be opened with a minimum deposit of £50.00 Sterling. Each request cost is deducted from the account and customer is informed of how much is left in account.
