A bold, new anchor team Fearless reporting In-depth investigations Front page newsmakers A new way of looking at issues that affect us all

Each Thursday night, the ABC News newsmagazine "Primetime Live" takes a provocative look at the events and people that touch our lives through a mix of probing investigations, compelling human interest and feature reports and major newsmaker interviews. Anchored by Diane Sawyer, Chris Cuomo, Cynthia McFadden and John Quiñones, the program airs Thursdays (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET) on the ABC Television Network.

This season, "Primetime Live" returned to its roots in hard-hitting investigative reporting, including reports on insurance scams, bogus and dangerous botox injections and Iraq war veterans returning home to lives of poverty. Other notable stories have included Charles Gibson's hour on the remarkable efforts to separate conjoined Virginia twins, Quiñones' look at a spiritual healer called "John of God" who has attracted millions of desperate pilgrims, and Sawyer's compelling report from behind bars in a women's maximum security prison. And when the newsmakers everyone is talking about have something to say, they say it first on "Primetime." This season's headline-making interviews have included Diane Sawyer's exclusive conversations with former President Bill Clinton, in his first interview after his heart surgery, and model Petra Nemcova, who discussed her horrific experience during the South Asian tsunami.

During the 2003-2004 season, "Primetime" featured: An hour-long investigation into the growing epidemic of cheating in America's schools and how new gadgets are helping kids get away with it; a hidden camera investigation into a major insurance scam in which patients are undergoing unnecessary surgical procedures; a report that revealed new details about the largest art heist in American history; and a disturbing look at conditions inside some of America's largest veterans' hospitals.

"Primetime" also had a bevy of exclusive interviews with such diverse newsmakers as President George W. Bush, Governor Howard Dean, Jessica Lynch, Britney Spears, Madonna and Pete Rose; an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey about her efforts to provide assistance to children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic in South Africa; and an hour-long report on the controversy surrounding the film "The Passion of the Christ," including an exclusive interview with filmmaker Mel Gibson.

Charles Gibson continues to contribute regular reports for "Primetime Live." Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross and Jay Schadler are the featured contributors to the broadcast. David Sloan is the interim executive producer of "Primetime Live." Robert Lange, Jessica Velmans and Chris Vlasto are the senior producers.
