Lunchtime News
I've
worked as a cleaner in the Mars factory at Slough, as a clerk
for the Greater London Council, as a library assistant in Dulwich
and Peckham libraries.
As a broadcaster I have worked at Radio Orwell, Invicta Radio,
Hereward Radio, Viking Radio, BBC Radio Humberside. I was news
editor at Essex Radio and Breeze AM.
The love affair with BBC Essex began on February 14th 1994,
joining as editor of the breakfast programme, winning a BT Journalism
and Press Award. In 1996 I was transferred to the news desk
as Assistant Editor, transforming the Lunchtime News and becoming
its main presenter.
I've presented all of the weekday programmes and most of the
weekend ones. I'm one of a handful of broadcasters who've presented
news and programmes on BBC and independent radio in Essex. In
1997 I spent some time reporting for BBC TV's Look East. In
1998 I created John's Journey Back In Time which has attracted
the best ever listenership figures for Sunday mornings. Currently,
I'm Programmes Editor and present the BBC Essex Lunchtime News
everyday from 12.30pm.
