Jobs/Internships

At GarageGames, we like having interns around because they always have cool ideas, fresh perspectives, and lots of energy. It's fun to bring new people into the office, and we can always use help with all the projects we have going. GarageGames is a small and tight-knit company, so you can always gain help and experience from seasoned industry veterans while working on real projects, not just be the "coffee" guy.

The team at GarageGames will teach you the craft as practiced in the industry - you will be able to learn the particular way it's done here as well as all the possible ways to do it. Interning is a great way to get your foot in the door, have some fun, and learn the ropes. Not only do you gain valuable experience in the working world, you will also make contacts in the industry who will come in handy when you are looking to secure permanent work.

Internships are unpaid, but free housing in our brand new GG apartment is provided (internet connection and utilities are included). The apartment is located right by the University of Oregon, and the area is teeming with things to do, nightlife, food, and general entertainment venues. The GarageGames office is only about two miles away, with easy walking and biking routes, or affordable, convenient bus rides to the office.

In general, internships are about having fun, working on cool projects, learning all you can about game development, and building up an experience base that can help you get your foot in the door of the games industry. We've hired many of our previous interns as well, and others have gone on to careers at other game studios.
