CONSOLE SOLUTIONS

The Torque Development Platform provides the perfect opportunity for any developer to get their games in front of a massive console gaming audience. GarageGames opened this opportunity by bringing the core Torque technologies to a variety of console platforms like Xbox, Xbox 360 and others.

Case Study: Marble Blast Ultra on the Xbox 360

MBUltra Early in the development of the hardware for the next generation Xbox360 console, Microsoft approached GarageGames to enlist our help developing game content for the Xbox Live Arcade downloadable game "channel." Since the companies already had a successful partnership bringing three Torque based products to the current generation XBox XBLA downloadable channel, Microsoft had full confidence in the ability of the engine to scale to show off the power of the new console. After getting pre-release Alpha hardware, GarageGames quickly ported their flagship Torque Game Engine: Advanced (TGEA) to the new platform.

ADDITIONAL TOOLS FOR COMMERCIAL DEVELOPERS

TNLThe Torque Network Library is based on the networking architecture in the Torque Game Engine, but is a stand alone, secure, easy to use cross-platform C++ networking API designed for high performance simulations and games. The network architecture in TNL has powered some of the best internet multiplayer action games, including Vivendi's Starsiege, Tribes, and Tribes 2 products; NCSoft's Auto Assault; as well as independently produced titles including Bravetree's ThinkTanks; 21-6 Production's Orbz; MaxGaming technologies' Dark Horizons: Lore; and many more.

TNL is designed to be easy to integrate into existing products. In less than an hour, you can have a minimal TNL implementation up and running in your game or network product. Within weeks you can take advantage of all the advanced features of TNL, allowing your game to support more players while using less bandwidth per client than any other solution on the market.

Multiplayer games no longer need to lag. GarageGames has given a gift to the world wide development community by providing a GPL, Open Sourced version of the library. Feel free to use the GPL version as a test case for your needs, then upgrade to the Indie or Commercial license if you require a "closed source" version.
