Escalating education costs coupled with limited financial aid for minorities may be keeping University minority enrollment low.

On Friday night, the only thing that could have defaced the Nittany Lion Shrine was loud music, pizza sauce or apple cider poured from paper cups.

It was Friday evening. Anthony Italiano was sick and tired. He hadn't slept since Wednesday. But his spirits were cured once the music began and the parade got rolling.

Although the University Board of Trustees agreed in 1987 to stop investing in equities that had ties to South Africa, the University did not stop using the services of a firm with links to South Africa to audit the University's finances.

Employees at the University's Hershey Medical Center won't be using scalpels for the kind of cutting planned for the next fiscal year -- amputating $22 million from the hospital's budget.

The University Board of Trustees passed a resolution Friday to end economic sanctions against South Africa that have stood since 1987.

Any doubts about Penn State's entry into the Big Ten were shattered in just two hours Sunday.

Wearing only her long-sleeve jersey, shorts and boots, Katy Grebos wasn't dressed appropiately for the cold weather on Saturday. The temperature dipped below 40 and at the wide-open rugby field, that's close to freezing.

The women's volleyball team knew that going to Purdue would be in no way an easy match.

That first peek inside the glossy covers of the preseason basketball magazines left Minnesota point guard Arriel McDonald in a state of shock.

Tyoka Jackson was walking away. There were coaches and players and trainers rushing toward Eric Ravotti, and Tyoka Jackson was walking away.

One title down, one to go.

The so-called experts really don't have an explanation for how an athlete gets into the infamous zone -- even Michael Jordan can't describe it, or how to get in it.
