Harvard Law School provides unmatched opportunities to study law and related disciplines in a rigorous and collaborative environment. Harvard’s scope is measured in its unparalleled breadth and depth of courses and clinics, its wide array of research programs, its diverse student body drawn from across the nation and around the world, and its extensive network of distinguished alumni. More broadly, law students can tap into Harvard University’s extraordinary resources through joint degree programs, cross-registration, and a variety of social and cultural venues.

At HLS educational experiences are designed to enrich individual learning and interaction. First-year sections have fewer than eighty students and the student-to-faculty ratio is akin to that at a small liberal arts college. This year, HLS offers more than 100 upper-level classes with 25 or fewer students, over 80 small seminars, as well as hundreds of opportunities to work one on one with faculty members and program leaders. Unparalleled educational resources combined with meaningful intellectual engagement with faculty and classmates prepare HLS students for leadership in public service, private practice, the judiciary, academia, business, and government.
